FROM PARIS WITH LOVE | THE YOLKE GIRL GUIDE TO THE CITY OF LOVE
With Paris just a few hours away by train, it makes for the perfect romantic weekend away. We turn to our favourite Parisian Lena Farl for the inside scoop on the City of Love.
The covered passages dotted across the city. The most famous are probably the Galerie Vivienne and Le Passage des Panoramas and the lesser known ones, Le Passage des Jouffroy and Passage Verdeau. These arcades have a unique charm with their ancient bookshops, antique dealers and typical French restaurants. Come here to experience the romantic Parisian atmosphere
I usually go to les Jardins du Palais Royal. This place is well known but if you go early in morning or during weekdays, it is the perfect place to take a deep breath.
My perfect date night would involve diner at Terrass Hotel Rooftop restaurant with a 360 degree view of the city. I would then go and see a ballet or an opera at Palais Garnier followed by drinks at a speakeasy bar. A drink at Experimental Cocktail Club or Prescription Cocktail Club and a night Hotel des Grands Boulevards would be the perfect way to end the day.
For a more set atmosphere, I'll go to La Maison Souquet's Bar. This secret spot has an interesting past which you will soon discover in amongst its wonderful cocktail bar. To step it up a notch, Hotel Amour is worth a visit to sip its many champagnes. The Hemingway Bar at The Ritz is perfect for a night cap.
