MEET TESS NEWALL - Our collaborator
Marrying cult interiors and YOLKE’s signature floral prints, decorative artist and set designer, Tess Newall has collaborated with YOLKE to create a space which blooms in the coldest of months. Bespoke hand painted wallpaper bedeck the walls of the YOLKE X Liberty Pop-Up alongside a custom designed bobbin furniture by Tess’s husband, Alfred Newall.
For those in the know, Tess Newall is a London and Sussex based artist whose whimsical style is inspired by the historic interiors and folk decoration. You may have seen in the press in the likes of House & Garden, Financial times, The World of Interiors and Town & Country. Specialising in domestic interiors, hand painted furniture and walls, she works alongside world renowned interior designers and has built her studio to specialise in textural effects and fine attention to detail.
Furniture designer and maker, Alfred Newall, is often considered to have renewed the trend of the 17th century decorative technique – Bobbin Furniture. Also known as Spool Furniture, this timeless style is inspired by Arts & Crafts Movement. Alfred has custom designed a bespoke bobbin mirror and lamp stand which will showcase in the pop-up alongside his wife’s hand painted wallpaper.
THE NUTCRACKER SILKS
Wildly decadent and wrapped with a bow we introduce this seasons Christmas Exclusive, the Nutcracker silks. A Collection of Sleep and loungewear styles crafted from the finest cottons and unique stretch silks in bespoke prints designed in hose in London. Inspired by folklore and vintage prints with a contemporary twist, this season sees the signature relaxed and effortlessly tailored styles in a sumptuous new chorus of prints. Available in kimono style gowns, silk trimmed pyjamas and floor sweeping slips, these are the ultimate in sleepwear luxury.
