We are in the midst of a long London heat wave right now. Where do you go to escape the heat?

Our flat is like an oven in the summer; so the only option is to escape! Limewood is pretty much the dream country escape or a day at Soho Farm House (mid week if you can to avoid the crowds) for a dip in the pool is a lovely way to feel like you're on holiday without going too far. Failing that, a shady spot in Richmond Park or drinks at Pergola on the roof are two favourite ways to embrace the heat wave.

What is your favourite way to travel?

Plane – it's one of the few times my phone is out of action and I just watch movies back to back for hours. I do love a good road trip too, and if I get to the be the passenger for once and in control of the playlist and snacks, even better...

If you had to live in another country, where would you move?

L.A without doubt... The food, the palm trees, the weather, the outdoors lifestyle. It's the antithesis of London which is why I think I love it as an alternative second home. I just wish it wasn't quite so far away from friends and family here.

Travel essentials – anything you always take regardless of where you’re headed?

A good book, my laptop, eye mask and ear plugs for the plane and just in case the hotel isn't the zen paradise you hoped for.  My Olympus Pen-F camera and a ridiculous amount of skincare products. I love Avène Skin Recovery range and hair products by Christophe Robin and Philip Kingsley.

For those trying to escape the crowds in Europe over the summer, is there anywhere you can recommend that's a bit off the beaten track?

My trick for beating the crowds is go in June or September, outside of school holidays basically. The Greek islands are paradise at that time of year, Hydra and Northern Zakynthos are two of my favourites. I went to a new little hotel called Hôtel Les Roches Rouges in the south of France recently and that was amazing. It's outside of the hustle and bustle of Nice and St. Tropez and has the best interiors, beautiful seawater pool and amazing cocktail menu.

Who does your favourite swimwear at the moment?

I have a bit of swimwear problem so there's a few! I love Marysia and Solid & Striped always; the scallops and gingham just get me every time. Australia seems to produce the best swimwear unsurprisingly, brands like Peony, Matteau and Zulu and Zephr are a few favourites but I could go on!

Any other new brands that are floating your boat this summer?

I'm still loving the brilliant Réalisation Par for dresses; I live in their silk dresses over the summer. I'm also currently obsessing over Khaite and Nili Lohtan; they both do that sort of effortless, elegant New York aesthetic so well. I'm eternally lusting after Attico dresses too but have yet to splurge....

What’s still left to do/see on your bucket list?

So much; my go-to list keeps getting longer rather than shorter! I still haven't been to Bali which definitely needs to be ticked off the list. I've also got Trancoso in Brazil in my sights and lots more of the USA. I really want to do the deep south and Amangiri in Utah is my ultimate bucket list hotel.

And finally, what you do you sleep in?

Right now, little shorts and a vest top. In the winter I'm in full length silk or jersey PJ's, cashmere socks, the works!

Thank you, Lucy!
