What does British luxury mean to you?
British luxury is where long standing tradition and craftsmanship meets contemporary culture and a unique sense of creativity.
What do you think is the future for retail?
The future for retail (and all consumer products) in my opinion is a return to "slow" as opposed to "fast" fashion. Consumers are already starting to place a lot more emphasis on ethnicity and longevity of their products as a reaction to the accelerating pace with which designers churn out new collections and trends, effectively reducing the life span of most luxury fashion items to three months.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Discovering young brands and seeing them grow commercially successfully by introducing them to the consumer.
What is your guiding principle?
Where there is a will, there is a way!
Which person do you most admire?
My mother and father for putting up with me all these years! :)
Which words of phrases do you most overuse?
Definitely the word "definitely".
What keeps you awake at night?
My puppy Alfie!
If you didn't work in fashion, what would you be doing?
I would be an interior designer. I am obsessed with furniture and design!
What piece of advice would you give someone entering the luxury industry now?
Be kind to people. In this industry, relationships are everything and it is so small that inevitably you meet everyone twice!
Can you give us any idea of what your next move might be?
I am still exploring different Avenues! Pun not intended. ;)
And as always our final question – what do you sleep in?
YOLKE PJ's of course, they are literally the softest silk!
Thank you, Roberta!
